You may have already been wondering what settings you need to use to produce a “radio” type sound in your tabs. The effect, which can be heard in the intros to tracks such as the “The Power of Equality” by the Red Hot Chili Peppers and “Bat Country” by Avenged Sevenfold, is actually very easy to reproduce!

How it works

The effect involves simulating the very narrow frequency range of a tiny radio speaker. All that’s required, therefore, is the insertion of a graphic equalizer in the Guitar Pro effect chain to filter out the lows and highs from the sound spectrum. We will just leave a narrow set of frequencies in the mid-range (between 800 Hz and 1.6 KHz), simulating the type of speaker in question.

To switch back to a normal guitar sound, you simply need to create a second preset in Guitar Pro 6. Here are the two presets used in sequence in the riff from “Bat Country” by Avenged Sevenfold.
